On 25 February 2106, the first of my two articles on the subject of experimental vitamin B12 deficiency was published in the peer-reviewed open-access journal, SpringerPlus. This research article describes my longitudinal self-experiment to investigate the performance of the Holotranscobalamin (HoloTC, Active-B12) immunoassay.

On 20 May 2016 , the second of my two articles on the subject of experimental vitamin B12 deficiency was published in the peer-reviewed open-access journal, SpringerPlus. This article is a review of the HoloTC immunoassay and Herbert’s model for the development of vitamin B12 deficiency.

My self-experimentation is controversial, and publication of my articles has been very difficult, because my work challenges currently accepted dogma on:

  • Reliability of pathology tests, in this case the HoloTC immunoassay
  • Ethics of self-experimentation in medical research
